Pursuit of Fame, Beauty, Glamour

The following pictures were used as inspiration for an installation my group was assigned. The theme began with the idea of Dandyism. In the traditional sense, famous Dandies were known for their rebellious dress, lavish lifestyles, and exclusivity. Wanting to stray for the typical layout that this project could go, my group began to reference the late 80's, early 90's cult culture, CLUB Kids. This group of young 20 somethings took to the streets of New York City and London in the pursuit of all things fabulous. "Party Monster," starring Seth Green and Macaulay Culkin, chronicle the outrageous rise and fall of Michael Alig and James St. James. The scene shows raging drug use, costumes resembling drag dress, and an overall depiction of partying gone too far. Despite the controversial subject matter surrounding this culture, one theme shown through, Living Life Out Loud.

This is our generation!
